12 youngsters booked for murder bid in Sangrur

The police have booked around 20 youngsters for attempt to murder here. They had allegedly created ruckus in a local mall and assaulted 3 bouncers on Friday night here. The bouncers have been hospitalised and the accused are absconding.

The police have booked around 20 youngsters for attempt to murder here. They had allegedly created ruckus in a local mall and assaulted 3 bouncers on Friday night here. The bouncers have been hospitalised and the accused are absconding.

As per information, around 20 youngsters had reached the Dhuri road mall and allegedly started whistling during a film show. The security guards stopped them and after the show they had a tussle with the mall staff around 7:30 in the evening.

The accused have been identified as Narinder Singh, Amar, Harshpreet Singh, Lakhbir Singh, Harinder Singh, Maninder Singh, Narinder Singh, Harpreet Singh, Sukhdeep Singh from Ropar district. They came here for a training course.

They have been booked under 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 427(mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), 506 (criminal intimidation), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon) and 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) of Indian penal code at Sadar police station Sangrur.

“They created chaos and assaulted the mall staff. Police registered a case on Gagandeep Singh, a victim’s complaint. Raids are being conducted to nab the accused and we will arrest them soon” said, Sukhdeep Singh, Station house officer, Sadar police station.
