13 govt officials found absent during surprise checking

In a surprise checking by the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM), 13 government officials were found to be absent on Thursday in the offices of the nagar council, market committee and block development panchayat office(BDPO) in Sirhind.

SDM Pooja Syal conducted the surprise checking from 9 am to 9.15 am in the offices, on the direction of the Punjab government, said a press release.

At the market committee office, the SDM found grain market supervisors Rachpal Singh, Baldev Singh, Ajmer Singh, Bhag Singh and Amarjit Kaur, auction recorder Jaswinder Kaur and Ranbir Singh and clerk Harmit Singh to be absent.

At the nagar council, Prem Singh, Hans Raj and Devinder Singh were absent while Patwari Baljinder Singh and assitsant employment gram sewak Ritu Rani were found not present at the BDPO office.

The SDM said that a show cause notice had been sent to all those found absent and disciplinary action would be initiated after getting their replies.
