The Daresi police claim to have solved at least 14 cases of snatching with the arrest of two persons.

A total of seven mobile phones, a tablet, a handbag and `200 in cash, besides a scooter, were recovered from the accused, identified as Mangal Soni and Rajan of Bindra Colony. Both are in their mid 20s.

Sub-inspector Sanjiv Kapoor, station house officer (SHO), Daresi police station, said the police arrested the accused from Ved Mandir Chowk on Saturday following a tip-off.

He claimed that the accused were drug addicts and took to crime to meet their need of drugs.

He added that the accused had snatched a handbag from a woman, Ambika of New Ashok Nagar on Friday. A case was registered in this context.

“The accused also confessed to have snatched a handbag from a woman at Bindraban Road on Thursday and robbed a man of `6,500 in Division Number 6 area on Saturday,” the SHO claimed.
