15 injured in road mishap in Baddi

As many as 15 persons, including 10 students of Baddi University, suffered injuries when the institution's staff bus in which they were travelling in collided head on with a truck near Harraipur village on Pinjore-Swarghat national highway on Thursday.

Of the total 10 students, four suffered serious injuries. The injured identified as Vishali, Ani, Nisha Sakshi, Ajay Balwinder, Anil, Harmesh, Harsh, Niteshi, Chandni and Reena were admitted to Baddi hospital while Prem Chand, Priya and Ravneet Mishra were admitted to Nalagarh hospital, where doctors referred Ravneet to Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accident took place in the forenoon when the university bus was heading towards the main campus from Nalagarh.

As soon as the bus reached near Harraipur village, a speeding truck bearing (HP12 -8977) hit the bus from the opposite side, leaving 15 persons injured. Later, the police arrested truck driver Pappu and impounded the vehicle. A case has been registered.
