15-year-old girl alleges abduction, gangrape

Police on Wednesday booked four people for allegedly raping a 15-year-old after kidnapping her from Jawaddi area of Ludhiana on Monday evening.

Police on Wednesday booked four people for allegedly raping a 15-year-old after kidnapping her from Jawaddi area of Ludhiana on Monday evening.

Two accused have been identified as Arjun and Tota, both residents of SBS Nagar, while two of their accomplices have not been identified.

In her complaint to police, the victim, a Class-5 student, stated that on Monday, when she was returning from school around 12.30pm, the accused stopped her near Jawaddi cremation ground and forcibly made her sit on a two-wheeler.

They took her to a room at a secluded place on Dhandran road, where two men were already present, and gangraped her, she alleged.

After raping her, the accused dropped her in Dugri. They even threatened to kill her, if she told about the incident to police or her family, she alleged.

But, the girl narrated the incident to her parents, who filed a complaint with police on Tuesday.

Investigating officer Darbara Singh of SBS Nagar police station, said, “During investigation, we came to know that two accused were known to the victim’s family that lives in Jawaddi.”

“Police have booked the accused under Sections 366-A (procuration of minor girl), 376-D (gangrape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and Section 3 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012. Medical examination of the victim was done at civil hospital on Tuesday. We are waiting for the report,” Singh said.

Teenager abducted from Thane, rescued in Ludhiana

A 16-year-old girl from the Thane district of Maharashtra was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a youth who took her to Ludhiana from where she was rescued, police said on Wednesday.

The girl, a resident of Kalyan-Malang Gadh road in Dombivili area of Thane, went missing on March 18. Initially, her parents filed a missing complaint. Senior police inspector GS Randive of Manpada police station, said, “During probe, police tracked the girl and the youth to Ludhiana. A police team from Dombivili rescued the girl on April 7. The youth, identified as Manish Munnilal Mourya (22), was subsequently arrested.”

“The accused, employed as a supervisor with a company in Dombivili, wooed the girl staying in her neighbourhood on the pretext of marrying her. During this period, the girl was allegedly raped by the accused,” police said.

“The accused has been booked under Sections 363 (kidnapping) and 376 (rape) of the IPC and Sections 4 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, police added.
