The city police have arrested Gurpreet Singh Gopi of Nahla village and Sunil Kumar Sonu of Pannu Vihar in the case of sodomising a 17-yearold boy of New Rajan Nagar on Tuesday.

The accused after abducting the boy on Sunday dumped him outside a factory in the Leather Complex on Monday morning.

“Sunil Kumar was driving the car when Gopi abducted and sodomised the victim on Monday,” read the police statement.

The police claimed that it seized 52 bottles of illicit liquor from Sunil’s house in Pannu Vihar, situated at JalandharKapurthala highway.

A case under Sections 365 (kidnapping), 377 (unnatural offense), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) has been registered.

The case has been registered against the two accused and other unknown accomplices on the statement of victim at Basti Bawa Khel police station.

Previously also Gopi had been arrested for harassing victim’s sister but he was out on a bail.

A separate case has been registered against Sunil in connection to seizing of illicit liquor.

Basti Bawa Khel SHO Gurpreet Singh said that accused will be produced in the local court on Wednesday and police will seek their remand to quiz them regarding the other two accused.

Victim’s family alleged that last month victim had filed a complaint against some people, who were harassing his elder sister. Due to them, victim’s sister went into depression and fell from roof. She suffered fractures in her spine and has been bedridden since one month.

The victim’s grandmother alleged that if cops had arrested those booked in his sister’s case, the accused would not have dared to commit such a crime with him.
