The 1993 Delhi bomb blast convict, Devinderpal Singh Bhullar, on Sunday surrendered before the police at the Amritsar central jail after his 21-day parole ended.

After appearing before jail authorities around 5pm, he was admitted to the psychiatry ward of Guru Nanak Dev Hospital under custody of the jail department, said Dr PD Garg, head of the psychiatry department.

On April 23, Bhullar was released on a 21-day parole after remaining nearly 23 years behind the bars. He has been again admitted to the hospital as he has not recovered from mental ailment, said the doctor.

Bhullar was shifted to Amritsar jail from Tihar in June last year. But he was immediately admitted to the psychiatry ward of the Guru Nanak Hospital and had been undergoing treatment for depression since then.
