2,137 girls to get benefit under Bebe Nanki Laadli Beti Scheme

Chief parliamentary secretary and local MLA Parkash Chand Garg said that a total of 2,137 girls from Sangrur district will get benefit under the 'Bebe Nanki Laadli Beti' welfare scheme launched by the state government.

The scheme provides Rs 2,100 each at the time of birth of the girl, at the age of three with complete vaccination, at the age of six with admission to Class 1 and at the age of 14 with admission to Class 9. Finally, when she would attain the age of 18 with admission to senior secondary (Class 12), the girl would be provided with a sum of Rs 31,000.

Apart from that, a scholarship of Rs 100 per month from Class 1 to 6 and Rs 200 per month from Class 7 to senior secondary level would also be given to the beneficiary girl.
