Two Ambala residents, including a woman, sustained injuries after a car they were travelling in turned turtle on Pathankot-Jammu National Highway near Malikpur Chowk in Pathankot on Monday.

The injured were identified as Anita Rani, 48, and a relative Bodh Raj. Anita’s son, 21-year-old Mohit Kumar, was driving the Chevrolet Spark car.

While Mohit came out safely, the other two were pulled out by onlookers after breaking the windows of the car.

They also called police on the spot.

Harjinder Singh, inquiry officer of Kanwan police station said the victims had borrowed the car from one of their relatives in Dinanagar.

He said they were returning to Dinanagar from Lakhanpur (J&K) when the driver lost control over the car rolled over many times before coming to a stop in the middle of the highway.

He said the injured were rushed to a private hospital, where they were told to be out of danger but under observations.

A case has been registered, he said.
