The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to conduct a two-day regional-level science exhibition at Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar on August 12. Talking to Hindustan Times, Sister Chantal, principal, Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar, said, "This time our school has been selected the venue for the science exhibition.

Nearly 86 CBSE affiliated schools from Chandigarh and Punjab will be participating. CBSE regional officer, Panchkula, RJ Khanderao will inaugurate the exhibition."

The aim behind conducting the exhibition is to promote interest in science and technology among younger generation. To provide exploratory experiences, encouraging creative thinking and promoting psychomotor skills among school students through self-designed models or simple apparatus.

Further, each participating school will display two models. The best 15 exhibits from each venue will be displayed in the national-level CBSE science exhibition to be held in Delhi in October.

The main theme for this year's exhibition will be science and society. While sub-themes are industry, natural resources and their conservation, transport and communication, information and education technology, community health and environment and mathematical modelling.
