2 minors abducted, one untraced after rape

In the first case, registered at the kotwali police station, a milkman, Sonu; his mother, Moorti Devi of Sangat Mandi, and Pawan Kumar of Mansa, brother of Moorti Devi, are charged under Sections 366 (abduction) and 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The victim, 19, worker at a beauty parlour here, is missing since August 10.
The case was lodged on Sunday at the complaint of the victim's father. The police claim to have heard of settlement between the parties. In another case, Sanjay Kumar, a man from Uttar Pradesh, is charged with inducing and kidnapping a girl aged 12, who is missing since December 20. The suspect and the girl's father are migrant labourers and neighbours at Arjun Nagar in this district.
Sanjay Kumar is charged under Sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366 (abduction and forcing for marriage) of the IPC.
Inquiry officer Jagdev Singh has confirmed that the victim is minor.
On Saturday, Sukhdeep Singh, Akali sarpanch of Naruana village in this district, was charged with raping his illegal second wife for five years and concealing from her that he was married already. On December 24, in two rape cases registered in the district, the three victims were all minor.
The fresh cases are about enticed away girls from legal guardianship, senior superintendent of police Ravcharan Singh Brar has confirmed. "In one of these cases, a rape victim is yet to be recovered because his father reported the matter only on Sunday, while we have also come to know about his previous settlement with the suspect's family," said Brar. "A hunt is on for both suspects."
