Members of the Young Writers Association (YWA) of Punjab Agricultural University are dismayed over the two-year delay in publication of the annual ‘PAU Magazine’. Director of students welfare Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal had earlier stated the magazine was delayed due to the parliamentary elections and would likely be out by the end of April. However, despite numerous efforts by the students, who number over a hundred, to get the magazine released, it appears they will have to wait for some more time.

“We’ve almost given up hope that the magazine would be out soon. The magazine has always encouraged students to write but we haven’t seen it for the last two years, and this has dampened our spirits”, said a student. “When the magazine was being regularly published it carried numerous articles and special columns, not only in English but also in Punjabi and Hindi. It offered YWA student members the best platform to hone their writing skills,” he added.

Speaking on the issue, Dhaliwal said: “We had decided to publish the magazine in April but, due to the general elections, we couldn’t bring it out in time. I’m happy to state that the proof reading part is over and the the magazine will definitely be out by mid-May. I understand the students’ discomfiture in waiting for such a long time.”
