A man raped a 21-year-old woman repeatedly for around six months and threatened her not to reveal this to anyone. While the victim got pregnant, she never revealed it to anyone, including her parents, due to threats of the accused.
The parents of the victim came to know about it when they ferried her to doctor for checkup following her ill health. The victim then narrated the whole incident to her parents, following which her mother took her to police and lodged an FIR against the accused at the Ladhowal police station.
In her complaint, the victim, who is a resident of Majh Fagguwal village, alleged that in July last year, when her mother was not at home and she was alone, accused Sukha, 25, of the same village barged into their house and raped her. The accused threatened her not to share it with anyone. The victim further alleged that the accused used to enter their house in absence of her parents and rape her.
When she fell ill on January 17 and her parents took her to a doctor, it was revealed that she is six-month pregnant. SHO at the Ladhowal police station sub-inspector Randhir Singh said a case under Section 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused. The police have launched a manhunt for arrest of the accused.
