210 patients with diabetes, hypertension given free consultation

A team of Diabetes Free World and National Integrated Medical Association, Ludhiana, organised 133rd free diabetes screening camp here on Sunday.
The team comprising Dr Surinder Gupta, Dr Inder Sharma, Dr Rahul Jain, Dr Rajesh Thapar, Dr Diwaker Sharma, Dr Ranbir Singh, Dr Ramandeep Singh, Dr Parveen Bhalla, Dr Sangeeta Chjabra and Dr Sarjivan Sharma served the needy patients.
Dr Surinder Gupta, managing director of Diabetes Free World said that 210 patients with diabetes, hypertension were given free consultation after on the spot blood glucose test, blood pressure and neuropathy tests.
He said free medicines were given as a start-up therapy.
Interacting with the patients, Dr Surinder Gupta said, “Patients with diabetes should strictly follow expert advice.”
He said, “One should avoid eating desi-ghee, butter, malaai, gur and rice, as it aggravates the problem.” He added that one should go out for early morning or evening walks.
“Low fat, low carbohydrate, diet along with increased physical effort can keep people healthy and away from other ailments,” he added.
