Reflecting the poor law and order situation in the city, four unidentified miscreants allegedly robbed a 22-year-old woman of her laptop, mobile phone and wrist watch at gunpoint in Sarabha Nagar on Wednesday.

In her complaint to police, Guneet Kaur, a resident of Model Town, said she was driving back home in her car after attending IELTS classes at a coaching centre in Sarabha Nagar.

She alleged that when she reached near A-block of Sarabha Nagar, four miscreants on two motorcycles intercepted her, and one of them forcibly sat besides her on the front seat.

Kaur alleged that the accused then flashed a gun and snatched her laptop, mobile phone and wrist watch. She alleged that the robbers also threatened to kill her if she did not hand over her cash. However, she was able to convince them that she had none.

Thereafter, before fleeing the spot, the accused beat her up and threatened her against approaching the police, Kaur alleged.

She claimed that the incident took place in afternoon, but no passer-by or police official came to her help.

A complaint was lodged at Sarabha Nagar police station, but no FIR was lodged till the filing of the report.

Deepak Hilori, trainee IPS officer and chief of Sarabha Nagar police station, could not be contacted for comment.
