For nearly 220 drug addicts including students, clients of the three peddlers moving around in the yellow beacon vehicle, arrested by the police from Zirakpur, heroin was a phone call away.
On Tuesday, the Zirakpur police had arrested three persons including a woman identified as Navdeep Bedi of Peer Muchhalla and Tarun Goyal along with his wife Sumandeep Goyal, of Zirakpur.
Sumandeep, a homemaker is the first woman, to be arrested in a drugs case in SAS Nagar in 2016.
“We have recovered information on about 220 clients of the accused who used to buy drugs. All the deals were done on over phone. We are on the lookout for the source,” said a police official.
The accused were also drug addicts and used to source drugs from Ambala and Chandigarh.
The accused to fund their own drugs had got into selling of heroin.
The accused used to sell heroin at Rs 2,000 per gram.
Police have also recovered two air-pistols, one toy pistol, live cartridges, 2,220 capsules and Rs 3.46 lakh from their possession of accused Navdeep Bedi of Peer Muchhalla and Tarun Goyal along with his wife Sumandeep Goyal, of Zirakpur.
