Three days after a 60-year-old woman was gangraped at Sayian village of Dehlon, a 23-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped after being sedated at Partap Singh Wala area on Saturday.
The Haibowal police on Sunday registered a case of rape against the accused, Natwar Lal, a native of Bihar, and his unidentified accomplice.
In her complaint, the victim alleged that her friend had come in contact with Natwar Lal at the railway station. She alleged that Lal told her friend that he worked with an agricultural firm and he could help her get a job there. Trusting his word, the victim accompanied Lal, who took her to a room at Partap Singh Wala area and offered her a glass of juice.
The victim alleged that she lost consciousness after consuming the juice, following which Lal raped her. Later, his unidentified accomplice also struck there and raped her, she alleged, adding that she managed to escape from there and shared the incident with her friend, who took her to the police.
The victim, a native of Uttar Pradesh, is residing in Ludhiana for the 10 years and is not in contact with her family.
Sub-inspector Balwinder Singh, who is investigating the matter, said the investigation was on to trace and arrest the accused.
