2nd Asian shotgun shooting championships starts

The second Asian Shotgun shooting championships commenced on Thursday with 180 shooters, including men and women from 17 countries are participating at New Moti Bagh Gun Club here.

Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh declared the meet open. IOA general secretary Randhir Singh also graced the occasion.

The chairman of organising committee and president of the NRAI, Raninder Singh gave the brief description of the event.

This is the first international event held in these ranges of Patiala.

He said training of double trap men event would start on Friday and 40 shooters would participate in this event.

From India, Ronjan Sodhi, RVS Rathore and Sangram Dahia will participate.

The three events -- double trap, trap and skeet -- will be conducted in this competition in which many Olympians will also take part.

The winners of Grand Prix will be awarded a cash prize of USD 6000 (gold), USD 4000 (silver) and USD 3000 (bronze) by the organising committee.
