The division number 8 police booked three persons for making obscene gestures before a salesgirl of a medical store on Thursday. When the victim and others opposed, the accused fled the spot.
The complainant, a resident of Kitchlu Nagar, said that she was at work at the store near Dayanand Medical College (DMC) and Hospital when the accused turned up in a car and started behaving indecently. When she opposed, they reportedly used foul language.
Meanwhile, the employees and others present there tried to catch hold of them but they managed to escape in their car.
Assistant sub inspector Jaspal Singh, incharge of of DMC police post, said that the accused were booked under section 354 A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). One of them has been identified as Rajibir Buttar. The police are yet to identify the others. Manhunt has been launched for their arrest.
Recently, division number 5 police arrested four youths for lecherous behaviour with two woman cops. The incident had taken place near Bharat Nagar chowk on November 22. The accused were booked under section 354 D of the IPC.
