3 buses confiscated for violating police commissioner's orders

Coming down heavily against violators in city, the police have confiscated three buses having black windowpanes.

A case was registered against those violating the orders of police commissioner on Wednesday. The police division number 7 registered a case against two bus drivers under Section 188 of the IPC. The accused have been identified as Hardeep Singh of She village of Khanna and Ravinderjit Singh of Ghalal village of Samrala.

Hardeep Singh was driving a Punjab Roadways bus, while Ravinderjit Singh was driving a private mini bus. The buses were stopped on the Chandigarh road and later confiscated. The drivers were later bailed out.

In another case, the Sarabha Nagar police arrested Jagtar Singh of Nandgarh village of Rampura Phull of Bathinda for driving a bus having black windowpanes on Wednesday. The police stopped the bus on Ferozepur road near MBD mall and confiscated it. A case was registered against the accused and he was arrested but was later bailed out.

It has been learnt that the police commissioner had issued orders to remove black windowpanes from buses. He had also warned that the police would register a case for violating the orders and had held several meetings with the bus operators in this regard.
