Close on the heels of a robbery and murder at Shiv Temple Kusht Ashram, three masked robbers assaulted employees of a gas agency and decamped with cash in broad daylight at Sirhind on Monday.
The injured employees of the Ranjeet gas agency have been identified as Lal Ji Yadav, Varinder Yadav and Rajinder Kumar. They were provided first-aid on the spot.
The victims told the police that they were distributing gas cylinders to consumers at the open ground when three motorcycle-borne youths came there with their faces covered at around 1.30 pm. They said the youths started thrashing the cashier and helpers with iron rods and snatched a bag containing around Rs 36,000.
The victims said the accused had bent the registration number plate of the motorcycle. The police said a case has been registered against the unidentified persons and investigations were on.
