3 new cases of dengue reported

Three new cases of dengue have been reported from the city in the past one week. Sachin Parbhakar, 25, of Pathka Mohalla is getting treatment at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana. Sohan Lal, 32, of Kangna village was also found suffering from dengue and was under treatment at a private hospital in Nawanshahr.

Three new cases of dengue have been reported from the city in the past one week.


Sachin Parbhakar, 25, of Pathka Mohalla is getting treatment at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana. Sohan Lal, 32, of Kangna village was also found suffering from dengue and was under treatment at a private hospital in Nawanshahr.

District health officer Dr Garja Singh said besides these two patients, who tested positive for dengue, another person was found suffering from dengue, whose identity has not been confirmed as yet.

He said the health department in collaboration with the Nawanshahr municipal council was still carrying out fogging with portable machine, covering all areas of the city.

The health department had taken the blood samples of around 150 people, who were either suffering from fever or headache in Ibrahim and Friends Colonies in the past two days. The suspected samples of dengue will be sent to the PGI, Chandigarh, for confirmation of dengue fever.
