Three journalists from Kalanwali in the district were injured after a gas agency manager and his employees attacked them on Monday. The police have registered a case against the gas agency manager and his employees.

Some consumers of Karan Gas Agency, Kalanwali, were unable to get LPG refills due to alleged irregularities on part of the agency. Journalists Sanjeev, Mukesh and Rohit, who are working for national dailies and local newspapers, reached the agency to cover the development as part of their professional assignment.

Gas agency manager Harmel Singh objected to the reporting and he along with his staff members attacked journalists and also broke their cameras.

The trio was admitted to the Odhan community health centre, from where Rohit was referred to the Sirsa civil hospital as he had suffered serious injuries.

Later, other journalists gathered at Kalanwali police station and demanded action against the gas agency manager.

Inspector Anil Kumar said they have registered a case against Karan Gas Agency manager Harmel Singh and his staff on the complaint of Rohit.
