300 students get degrees

As many as 300 students were awarded degrees at the annual convocation organised by Sri Guru Teg Bahadur College for Women here on Sunday on the college campus. Deputy commissioner of police Kaustubh Sharma was the chief guest.

As many as 300 students were awarded degrees at the annual convocation organised by Sri Guru Teg Bahadur College for Women here on Sunday on the college campus. Deputy commissioner of police Kaustubh Sharma was the chief guest.

In his short convocation address, the DCP motivated students to study further and learn how to make wise choices in life. He said a balanced system of education was the need of the hour, for which students must work on their skills in accordance with the changing scenario.

He motivated students to march ahead with judicious use of resources to achieve success. "You should consider this as a new beginning of your lives and not stop here," he said.

Assistant commissioner, public grievances, Lovejeet Kalsi, an alumna of the institute, recalled her memories of and association with the institute. She said students must have a dream which they must follow passionately.

A cultural programme was also presented on the occasion. Principal Nanak Singh congratulated the degree holders and wished them luck.
