The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has set up 312 examination centres in Ludhiana for the Class 10 examinations which are schedule to start from Friday. The exams will start with science and will conclude on April 6 with Hindi.
As many as 4,700 teachers have been deputed on examination duty. as supervisors and deputy supervisors. Seven principals of government schools in the district will check the examination centres tehsil-wise a day before the exam. 17 flying squad teams will also conduct checking at the centres during the examinations.
Talking to Hindustan Times, district education officer (DEO), secondary, Paramjit Kaur Chahal said, “The board has deputed the teachers on examination duty and 17 flying squad teams will also check the examination centres on the day of examination. Seven principals are directed to check the examination centres a day before the examination and if they find any discrepancy, they can inform our office as we have made alternative arrangements and the exams can be conducted smoothly.”
As many as 37,672 students of Class 10 in Ludhiana will appear in the examination. The government school heads are directed to collect the question papers for the PSEB Class 12 examination from three banks- Punjab National Bank (PNB), HDFC Bank and State Bank of Patiala.
The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has also set up a control room at Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan office, (SSA) which is situated at Sukhdev Thapar Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Bharat Nagar. The checking teams will report the cheating cases and other problems at the control room where Daljit Singh, science teacher of Government High School, Rurka, is deputed.
Meanwhile, Ludhiana police commissioner has banned the assembly of five or more persons within the 200-metre radius of the examination centres under Section 144 of the CrPC.
The order is applicable till the conclusion of the examination.
