32-year-old stabbed, critical

A 32-year-old man was assaulted and stabbed by five persons here on Friday.


The incident took place near the Sector-56 market and the victim has been identified as Mohammad Ishaze, a resident of Sector 56, who works in an Industrial Area-based factory.

According to the police, the victim had gone to the market where he entered into a heated alteration with a group of youngsters and a physical alteration ensued. The victim was stabbed thrice in the stomach.

Mohammad Faruq, brother of the victim, was informed about the incident and he rushed to rescue his brother. Faruq managed to get hold of one of the accused identified as Tej alias Kala, a resident of Sector 56, while others managed to escape. Tej was handed over to the police and the victim was rushed to a hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.

On the disclosure of Tej, the police nabbed Bunti alias Auto Wala, Ricky and Pala.

On the complaint filed by Mohammad Faruq, a case under sections 147,148, 149, 307, 324 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered in the Sector 39 police station.

In another incident, a case under sections 147, 148, 149, 323 and 506 of the IPC was registered in the Manimajra police station on a complaint filed by Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Manimajra, against Mahipal Bajwa and Rocky, both residents of Manimajra, who thrashed him.

The victim sustained injuries and was rushed to a hospital.
