As many as 34 films, documentaries, music videos and spots would be screened at the two-day Shimla Film Festival to be held here on April 12 and 13.

Of the 94 films that entered the festival, 85 were received and seen by the jury comprising filmmaker Vivek Mohan, journalist Rakesh Lohumi and photographer Sanjay Austa.

Of the 34 films shortlisted, 18 are by Himachal Filmmakers and 16 are in Open Filmmaker category.

In the Himachal Category, there are 3 feature films, 3 short films, 6 documentaries, 4 music videos and two advertisement spots.

The Open Category includes 8 short films, 5 documentaries, one music video and two public awareness spot films.

Apart from Himachal filmmakers, films of Indian and international filmmakers will also be screened.

Earlier, the organisers had announced that in the open category, no spot films had been entered for the festival but the jury took the view that two films which were slightly longer than the 1 minute duration length for the category were treated as spot films.
