A 35-year-old resident of Rari Mohalla on Friday accused an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the Division Number 3 police station of misbehaving with her and making an inappropriate video of her.

The woman, Amandeep Kaur, alleged that when she resisted his attempts, the ASI Sukhdev Raj threatened her with dire consequences.

She further told the police that the ASI was in an inebriated condition when he allegedly misbehaved with her.

Amandeep submitted a complaint to the area magistrate and the Punjab State Human Rights Commission and demanded immediate action against the ASI. Amandeep said she had lodged a first information report against some accused under sections 323, 341, 427 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code at the Division Number 3 police station in 2010.

She had failed to appear before a local court, as she was ill. The court had issued warrants against her.

She alleged that ASI Sukhdev Raj, who had come to her residence on Wednesday to execute the warrants, misbehaved with her. She alleged that the ASI, who owned a camera, also made an inappropriate video of her.

She further said the ASI had not allowed her to change her clothes and had taken her to the court in a vehicle.

Refuting the allegations levelled by Amandeep, ASI Sukhdev Raj said he had gone to her home, along with some women constables, to execute the warrants.

To avoid any allegations, he had recorded the entire proceedings in a camera, he said.
