Police arrested four persons allegedly involved in a drug racket on Tuesday evening. Three of them were carrying heroin allegedly procured from the fourth person.
The division number 4 police had installed a barricade at Upkar Nagar Bridge on Tuesday, when three persons coming on a bike suddenly stopped and tried to run away. The police stopped the accused and five gram of heroin was recovered from them after which they were arrested.
The accused have been identified as Pritpal Singh, Tej Pal, Gurdeep Singh. After questioning, the accused said they procured heroin from Ravinder Singh, who was a resident of New Kundanpuri.
The police raided the premises of Ravinder and arrested him. A case under Section 22/61/85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the arrested accused.
