Four people, including a child, were killed and three others sustained critical injuries in a head-on collision between a bus and a car at Harike, a rural town of Zira, a sub division of Ferozepur district, on Monday morning.

Injured Gurpreet Singh, Sushil Kumar were admitted to t a private hospital at Makhu and one unidentified person referred to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital, Faridkot.

Low visibility due to fog is being cited as the reason behind the mishap that took place near Bengali Wala bridge, 4km away from Makhu, at about 8.30am. All those killed and injured were travelling in the car (PB-02-AN-0028) that was on way to Ludhiana from Amritsar. The bus was coming from Moga and heading to Amritsar.

Police personnel and passersby struggled hard for nearly two hours to pull out the bodies and rescue the injured from the badly damaged vehicle.
