Two teenage boys allegedly gangraped a four-year-old girl in Gill village in the district, police said on Sunday.
The accused, who work as labourers, on Saturday took the girl to their room on the pretext of showing a cartoon series on television and raped her. The duo fled the spot after committing the crime, they said.
ASI Mohan Lal of Sadar police station said the police had launched a manhunt to arrest the accused.
The medical examination of victim was conducted at the civil hospital here. Her condition was stated to be stable.
On a complaint by victim’s mother, the Sadar police station registered a case against the accused, aged around 15, under Sections 376 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The names of the accused have not been disclosed as they are juveniles.
The complainant, a resident of labour quarters in the village, alleged that one of the accused, who lived in the same area, lured her daughter to his room, promising her to show a cartoon series on TV. The other accused was present in his room.
She alleged that they bolted the door of the room after taking her daughter inside. When the accused did not open the door for at least an hour, she knocked at it. After persistent knocking, the accused opened the door and fled the spot immediately. She said she was shocked to see her daughter lying on the bed and bleeding profoundly. She immediately informed the police.
