The Hamirpur district administration has funded Rs 1.82 crore to 490 poor families of the district under various house construction schemes of the state government during 2013-14. This was stated by deputy commissioner Ashish Singhmar while addressing a meeting of the officers of the district here on Saturday.
He said while 383 houses were constructed under the Indira Awaas Yojana, the rest of 107 were under the Rajeev Awaas Yojana. He said the subsidy under the scheme has been raised from Rs 48,000 to Rs 75,000.
During the meeting, Singhmar directed the officers dealing with people-oriented projects to personally visit the project sites and ensure that all works were going on according to the plan and no one was misusing the government money.
He claimed that all targets under the Indira Awaas Yojana and Rajeev Awaas Yojana had been completed in the district and the district had secured the first position under the programme.
