5-day Baba Farid festival concludes

The five-day Baba Farid Aagman Purab concluded on Tuesday with a religious procession which started from Tilla Baba Farid and reached Gurdwara Mai Godri Sahib, travelling through the town.


Thousands of residents of the area paid their obeisance at Tilla Baba Farid, besides enjoying rural games and other events. The religious procession then took the form of a congregation at Mai Godri Sahib.

Baba Farid society also awarded two annual prizes during the event. The Baba Farid award for honesty was given to engineer Swaran Singh Khosa by Bhai Kahan Singh, sewa panthi Tikana bhai jaita ji at Goniana, while Bhagat Puran Singh award for service to humanity was given to Dr Jasbir Singh Aulakh who is deputed in the Mansa district. Dr Inderjeet Kaur, president of Pingalwara society, Amritsar, conferred the award on Aulakh.
