The police have detained five persons in the murder case of 48-year-old property dealer Raman Khosla of Shivpuri after scanning the close-circuit television (CCTV) installed in the house.
Some of the detained persons belonged to the family of the victim. But the police had refused to reveal the identity of the suspect.
Police commissioner Pramod Ban has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT), including additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP, crime) Mukhwinder Singh, CIA staff-1 incharge inspector Rajan Parminder Singh and Salem Tabri SHO Maninder Bedi.
Former councilor Satpal Puri, who is brother-in-law of the deceased, has filed a complaint to the police commissioner and has accused the family members of killing him. He has also demanded an independent inquiry in the case.
Puri also alleged that some of local leaders have been trying to influence the police and want to hamper the investigation. He further alleged that such leaders were claiming it as natural death and were forcing them to not to conduct a post mortem.
The SHO said, "We have detained five persons and some of them are the family members of the victim. We will reveal their identity only after the investigation is over."
