The Bathinda police have booked five students of a private engineering college affiliated with Maharaja Ranjit Singh State Technical University (MRSSTU) at Banur in Patiala district for allegedly using forged Class 12 certificate of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to secure admission. Those booked have been identified as Gaurav Kumar, Rohit Tanwar, Mayur Tyagi, Navneet Singh and Navjot Sachdeva, students of Swami Vivekanand Institute of Engineering and Technology. Bathinds SSP Swapan Sharma said the case had been registered based on the complaint and prima facie evidence, but a detailed probe was being conducted.
