58-yr-old woman found murdered in Khanna house

In a shocking incident, unidentified people bludgeoned a woman to death at her house in Narottam Nagar of Khanna on Wednesday night. The house was found ransacked and the police suspect robbery behind the murder.

The deceased has been identified as Harinder Kaur Sandhu, 58. She was a widow and lived alone in the house. She also ran a hotel management institute.

The police have registered a case of murder against unidentified killers in this context and have also rounded up some suspects for questioning.
The victim’s neighbours noticed some suspicious activities in the house and sounded the police on Wednesday night.

When the police reached the spot, it found Sandhu lying dead in a pool of blood in one of the rooms. But blood stains were found in all rooms in the house. The police suspect that the woman struggled to save her life before being killed.

The police also found blood stains in the kitchen. According to the police, the killers must have washed the blood from their hands before leaving the house.

Inspector Rajnish Sood said it was being suspected that the killers entered from the main gate of the house and hit the woman with blunt weapons to kill her.

SP (detective) Satinder Pal Singh said the woman had rented out a portion of the house to some youths and the police would also question the tenants. The police have also informed the kin of the deceased, who are settled abroad.
