5kg opium seized from Rajasthan resident

The Sirhind police claimed to have arrested a drug peddler of Rajasthan. It seized 5 kg of opium from their possession.

SSP Gurmeet Singh Chauhan said that a police team led by assistant sub inspector (ASI) Gurbachan Singh of Fatehgarh Sahib police station set up a naka on Saturday evening and during the checking of vehicles, Prithviraj, a resident of Ranjitpura village in Bikaner (Rajasthan) was nabbed and 5 kg of opium was seized from his possession.

In a separate incident, a police team led by ASI Gurmeet Singh of Sirhind police station nabbed Balkaran Singh, a resident of village Dhani Waraichan (Sirsa), Balwant Singh alias Bunty, a resident of village Mirzapur, (Sirsa) and Sukhdev Singh alias Sukhdev, a resident of village Sikandpur (Sirsa) and seized 270 gram sedative powder a pistol and 15 cartridges from their possession.

He said cases had been registered against the accused in various police stations under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act
