A six-day long national theatre festival in the memory of noted theatre personality Manohar Singh will be held at the Gaiety Theatre here from April 24 onwards.
It will be part of the ‘Shimla celebrates 150 years of existence’ festival.
Chairing a meeting of the committee entrusted with organising various festival events on Thursday, additional chief secretary Upma Chaudhary said all arrangements would be made to make the event a success.
“On the first day a play, Khali Ki Khala, will be staged by a repertory company of the National School of Drama and on the second day the Motley theatre group from Mumbai will present Ismat Aapa Ke Naam, directed by Naseeruddin Shah. In addition to this Chhaya Shakuntalam by AN Panikkar, Monepiya(No Sex Please) by Waman Kendre and When We Dead Awaken by Ratan Thiyam will be the main attractions of the festival,” Chaudhary added.
