A 68-year-old man hailing from Bode village here was allegedly shot dead in Manila, Philippines, on Saturday.
Victim Gurdev Singh Dhaliwal was a financier and had been residing in Manila after moving there in 1990.
His brother Gurmel Singh told HT that Gurdev was returning home from work on Saturday evening, when two motorcyle-borne youths started following his car.
When Gurdev stopped his vehicle at a traffic signal, the miscreants opened fire at him, resulting in his death on the spot, said Gurmel Singh.
He said the deceased’s body is expected to arrive in India on October 14 and the cremation will take place at their village.
