70-yr-old undertrial dies in jail hospital
Lodged in Ludhiana Central Jail for attempt to murder, a 70-year-old undertrial died in the jail hospital on Saturday morning. He was undergoing treatment for drug de-addiction and hypertension.

The deceased has been identified as Sadhu Singh (70). He was jailed in April this year.
Jail superintendent SP Khanna said, "One week after he was brought to the jail, the victim was sent to the civil hospital for treatment. He remained at the civil hospital for five days and was admitted to the jail hospital for the past three months."
Khanna said the deceased, a drug addict, was consuming drugs for the past 45 years.
According to information, on Saturday morning at around 4.30am, the victim went to answer nature's call. After sometime he was found dead on his bed.
The body of the victim has been sent to the civil hospital for postmortem. He said the jail authorities have informed to the family members of the deceased about his death.
