Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted a special checking drive at the railway station on Friday under the supervision of RPF commandant Yashwant Singh. As many as 78 people were arrested for violating railway norms.
Singh said, "During inspection in trains, RPF team arrested 25 vendors for selling their food items in the trains without licence. While ten people were arrested for spitting on the platform, 35 were arrested as they were roaming on the station without any purpose and seemed suspicious."
"Eight persons were caught from the Sachkhand Express train while travelling in the women's compartment," he said. All arrested people were then presented before railway magistrate SC Goyal.
Goyal fined them for being guilty. As per the sources nearly `30,000 fine was collected from these people. Yashwant Singh said, "Force keeps an eye on the activities at railway station and in trains. Such drives are organised after proper home work.
