80 examined at ortho check-up camp

Pancham Hospital organised a free orthopaedics check-up camp here on Tuesday. As many as 80 patients were examined during the camp. Free bone mineral density and neuropathy assessment test were also done during the camp.

Senior consultant at department of orthopaedics Aseem Kapila said osteoarthritis was the most common form of joint disease in adults. It results in impaired quality of life causing pain, functional disability and depression. With advancement in surgical options, total knee replacement was the treatment of choice for advanced arthritis.

Dr RP Singh, managing director and chief cardiologist at Pancham Hospital, said health awareness through such camps was the need of an hour and special packages of joint replacement were available for such patients.

Free eye check-up

A free eye check-up camp was organised at Gurdwara Puran Das in Gujrawala village by eye specialist Dr Ramesh. As many as 137 patients attended the camp.

A total of 15 patients were identified for the cataract surgery for free during the camp. Dr Ramesh made people aware about various eye diseases and infections and also told them about the methods to take care of eye.

He motivated people for timely eye check. In the camp Dr Ramesh also motivated people to come forward for eye donation.

Asha workers Mamta Rani, Davinder Kaur, Paramjit Kaur and Sukhvir Kaur were also there, who supported in the camp.
