80-year-old woman robbed of gold bangles

A group of women robbed an elderly woman of gold bangles at cemetery road near Fountain Chowk (Vijay Vallabh chowk) on Tuesday morning by offering her lift in a car. The Division 8 police have initiated investigation in this context.

The victim, Nirmala Devi, 80, a resident of Shakti Nagar, said she was returning after attending a religious function at Jain temple on cemetery road at around 9.30 am when an Alto car stopped. Two women occupants of the car offered her lift in the car. She sat on back seat with the women, while a man was driving the car.

The women dropped Nirmala near the Prince hotel and sped away. After sometime she noticed that her bangles were missing.

The victim called her relatives, who informed police. The Division 8 police have initiated investigations into the case. A CCTV camera installed near the place where alighted from the car has captured the scene. ASI Ajiab Singh of Division 8, who is investigating the matter, said a case had been registered against the unidentified people.
