An 85-year-old woman, Mohan Devi, of Ananad Pur Rarha area was found dead at her residence on Saturday evening.Her body bears bleeding marks, which was coming out of her ears, and there were scars on her neck.
Following the reports, deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Manoj Thakur rushed to the spot and police had sealed the room, where the body was found.
The DSP told Hindustan Times that as per Rakesh Kumar, one of the sons of the victim, when he went to his mother’s room to give her lunch, he found his mother dead with bleeding ears.
“We have sealed the room so that with the help of sniffer dogs we can find some lead,” said the DSP.
He claimed that police had taken the body in their custody and the post-mortem report would also help in solving the murder mystery.
He said the prima-facie investigations suggested a robbery, as doctors claimed that she seemed to have suffered a brain haemorrhage, the blood of which oozed through the ears.
He said that no scars were found on her wrists, as locals were claiming that her bangles could have been pulled out too.
A case was registered, he concluded.
