The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has built toilets in the Government Girls School in Adliwal village, close to the Sri Guru Ram Das ji International Airport at Raja Sansi.

The AAI had adopted this school a couple of months ago and under a nationwide scheme, it undertook the construction of toilets for girls at this school. The toilet block in the school premises was inaugurated on Thursday by AAI director Sunil Dutt along with Ajnala SDM Surinder Singh.

Addressing students, Dutt explained that AAI had taken up this task in a number of villages across the country. So far in Punjab, AAI has decided to construct girls' toilets at two girls' schools in the Harsha Chinna Block and another three in the Chogawan Block.

While work at the Adliwal school in Harsha Chinna block had been completed, work in the other schoos will start soon, he added.

He also said that AAI will ensure that these toilets remain clean and a sanitary team will visit the school in Adliwal after every 15 days to inspect the cleanliness.
