Aamir Khan’s presence in Ludhiana, a big cynosure of all eyes

It may have been more than a month since actor Aamir Khan landed in Ludhiana to shoot for his upcoming movie ‘Dangal’, a biopic on Haryanvi wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, but the excitement of citizens, especially youngsters to meet him has not come down.

In fact, they are resorting to every possible way to meet him, be it at the film shooting locations, which are basically in villages around the city or even the hotel where is he is staying.

Jagvir Singh, a young farmer from Kila Raipur, said, “My friends and I were lucky to get pictures clicked with Aamir Khan recently, when he was shooting at our village Kila Raipur. It was only possible because one of my friends has been employed as actor’s bodyguard by his production house. After we shared these pictures on various social networking platforms, many of our other friends and cousins also wanted to get pictures clicked with Khan and constantly keep calling to make arrangements.”

Mandeep Kaur Deol, a college student, who had come all the way from Patiala with her friends to catch glimpse of the actor, said, “We flirted with one of the bodyguards during his shoot at Gujjarwal village, recently. Although, he made us wait, we were allowed to meet and take pictures with the actor in his break time.” There are also many youngsters and families, who know police officials deployed at the shooting locations, and they are easily able to meet the actor through them, but not more than a minute due to actor’s busy schedules. On the other hand, who have no contacts they simply climb the rooftops to catch his glimpse.

On top of this, city reporters employed with different newspapers are also getting special requests through phone calls and emails from people to take them along during any interview session with him. Similarly, Manav Inder Guram, who heads public relations of Radisson BLU MBD, the hotel where Khan has been staying since September 13, said, “Number of guests to the hotel restaurants and coffee shops have drastically increased ever since Khan checked in. We also get many guests who after finishing meals keep sitting in the lobby for hours with a hope to see Khan. They go on asking the front desk staff to know when he usually comes down and there are also some who keep going up and down in the lifts with another hope to catch the superstar in the lift itself.”

“You won’t believe that I daily get infinite request calls from across the state of not only youngsters but also elders and several officers, doctors, lawyers, who want to meet him, but I feel this excitement is obvious as this actor holds a big value in Bollywood.” Meanwhile, on various social networking platforms too excitement of all for this actor is also clearly visible. Many have either shared their pictures clicked with him or their wishes to meet him.

Aamir Khan will finally leave on November 18 to shoot for remaining part of the film in Delhi and Pune.
