Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) volunteers took another drive to make a “Clean, Green and Healthy-Ludhiana” by cleaning up a slum area on the Pakhowal Road on Friday.

Jamna Nagar also known as Ambedkar colony along the canal Pakhowal Road has a big slum area, which due to unhygienic conditions has become a big health hazard. The area is already reeling from deaths of people nearby Prakash Nagar due to water contamination.

The Clean and Green-Ludhiana team of AAP volunteers took up the initiative of providing healthy living conditions to the neglected area. They were helped by the municipal corporation and provided sweepers, who along with party volunteers gathered all waste and garbage from the colony. The employees of A2Z Group also participated in the group.

The volunteers stated they would ensure that there was no garbage dump or littering in any corner of the city and each child in this city receives at least a minimum level of literacy.

The volunteers also planted trees and earmarked a part of the slum.
