Punjab revenue and public relations minister Bikram Singh Majithia, sending out a strong message to Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Captain Amarinder Singh, said that nobody will be allowed to play with the interests of Punjab.

Majithia, who was in Tarsika to inaugurate the sub-tehsil building, said, “Both Kejriwal and Captain have deceived Punjabis on every front and are now playing political drama to gain power in the state. But people of Punjab will not fall for their false propaganda.”

He said that despite hindrances the Punjab government has de-notified the SYL canal land and returned it to the real owners. He added that 90% mutation of land is complete, in favour of the real owners, and the remaining works will be completed in a few days.

Majithia said that political parties asking for presidential rule in the state are working against the interests of Punjabis. He lashed out at Arvind Kejriwal and said that Kejriwal’s heart is with Haryana and soul with Delhi, then how can one expect him to do something good for Punjab.

Majithia asked AAP Punjab convener Gurpreet Ghuggi to come clear on the SYL issue and bring royalty money of water to Punjab from the Delhi CM.

He asked Captain why other Congress MPs from Punjab including Ravneet Bittu, Shamsher Dullo, Partap Bajwa and Chaudhry Santokh Singh have not given their resignations.

He said, “This shows that Captain had declared a few months back that he will be contesting in Vidhan Sabha elections, he is playing politics of resignation on the SYL issue.”
