After the announcement of Dr Dharamvir Gandhi as candidate for the Patiala Lok Sabha seat, the Aam Adami Party (AAP) launched its campaign by holding a broom procession on Tuesday.
The party formally inaugurated his district office at Chotti Baradari in Patiala.
Addressing the press conference at the party office, Dr Gandhi said for the past 60 years, two parties were ruling the country but they didn't do anything for the nation. They don't even talk about the issues of common man.
"AAP is the only party who talks about common man and we will solve the common people problems. People are totally disappointed with the current system", he added.
The policies of the SAD-BJP government are also disappointing. Taxes have been raised which make it difficult for people, as there was no transparency in the utilisation of public money,he said
He also said the local MP Perneet Kaur hadn't done anything for the city as a minister in the central government.
On the occasion of the inauguration, party workers organised a jhadu yatra which started from Chotti Baradri to Lohari Gate while covering Dharampura bazar , Adalat bazar, Qila Chowk and Arya Samaj Chowk.
