AAP organises cycle rally in Ludhiana

With a view to woo cycle industry of Ludhiana, the local unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organised a cycle rally in the city and asked residents to adopt cycling as an alternative lifestyle.

Senior leader of the party HS Phoolka led the rally that went to different areas of the city.

Phoolka said people of Ludhiana should adopt cycling and the aim of the cycle rally was to promote a healthy way of life and to ease the traffic congestion.

He added that the pollution level in the city would also decrease if cycles were used as a mean of transportation. “The cycle industry of Ludhiana will flourish if such initiative is taken,” he added.

Phoolka said the AAP volunteers would strive to bring about a change in mindset of the residents, and asked the volunteers to buy bicycles.

“People should use cycle at least for short distances, especially in the morning, as this has multiple benefits for our health and environment,” said Phoolka.

The cycle rally started from Government College for Girls and passed through Field Ganj, Karimpura Bazar, Electric Market, Saban Bazar, Girza Ghar Chowk, Clock Tower and finished at Rekhi Cinema, covering a distance of 10km.

Throughout the rally, various associations and shopkeepers facilitated AAP volunteers.
